Qualification / Job experience

• Job experience in a comparable position, if possible onboard a cruise vessel.
• Economical thinking; ability to understand business targets
• Basic knowledge of the German and the English language (written + spoken)

Responsibilities:

•  Responsible for the workflow in the assigned work area, in close cooperation with the Steward and the Waiter
• Responsible for the service in the assigned working area in the respective service company and according to instructions Maitre d’, Headwaiter Assist in creating a warm and welcoming environment for the guests.
• Set up, clear and promptly service tables after use to ensure that guests can be seated in a timely manner.
• Clean, organize and maintain designated service station and prepare mise-en-place to ensure that the station is ready when required.
• Ability to transport large trays through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout shift.
• Careful handling of all work equipment and appliances his/her/diverse station
• Ability to communicate orally and verbally in German and English with employees and guests.
• Responsible for the cleanliness, maintenance and upkeep of all equipment and ship property used to complete assigned tasks.
• Minimize breakage and loss of all equipment and use only authorized chemicals in an approved manner.
• Attends ship and departmental meetings as required.
• Willingness to taste the food and drinks associated with the menu and willingness to participate in all planned training and menu briefings.
• Strict adherence to all agreed regulations (USPH/HACCP, ISM/ISO, SQM, and company standards), especially regarding security, environment and hygiene regulations in his/her area of responsibility.
• During take-over and shipyard times, additional tasks have to be fulfilled if required.
